Most pregnancies last for around 40 weeks from the date of a woman’s last menstrual period. You may think that your due date is calculated from your first missed period, but by this time, you’re already around four weeks pregnant.
Not all babies are born on the exact day that you expect them to arrive, in fact, only around 5% of babies do. Some arrive earlier, and some arrive later and can be up to two weeks early or late.
Most babies arrive between 39 to 41 weeks, but doctors consider anything from 37 to 42 weeks as a normal delivery date.
So make sure you’re prepared a few weeks before your due date, relax and enjoy looking forward to finally meeting your baby!
