Through the choice of using 4 tablets per day, FertilMan® PLUS is able to deliver optimum levels of each nutrient to support general wellbeing and specifically help prepare the body to make healthy sperm. It is important to appreciate that both the mother and father should try to be at optimum health before conception, in order to provide the best possible start to the foetus. For men this is not just about direct support to healthy sperm, but also about their overall health as well so they are ready for conception and also for their caring role afterwards.
Contributes to normal:
Normal fertility, reproduction and DNA synthesis
Normal spermatogenesis - Sperm development
Normal testosterone levels in the blood
Regulation of hormonal activity
Production of cells from oxidative stress
Key Benefits
The primary benefit from any good food supplement is that it provides appropriate levels of nutrients to support the health of the consumer. FertilMan® PLUS does this by providing 21 nutrients including those well-known and scientifically validated for healthy sperm – Zinc and Selenium, as well as a range of amino acids and other profoundly helpful nutrients such as Coenzyme Q10 and Carnitine. When we consume food, we always take in a complex blend of many nutrients which work together synergistically to help support good health. Food, like complex blends of nutrients is the way our bodies are used to receiving nutrition, and so in that way it helps the body choose how it wants to distribute and handle the nutrients. This approach is the right one for nutritional support, as it builds upon the diet and doesn’t attempt to replace a varied diet through pharmacological doses of individual nutrients.
Sperm health - Selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis. Zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis, fertility and reproduction through its involvement in multiple enzymes enabling biochemical processes to work more efficiently in the body.
Energy- Coenzyme Q10 is biochemically involved in the production of ATP in body cells. ATP is the fuel for all cellular activity, but levels decline as we age. Maintaining a healthy CoQ10 intake helps to offset that decline. This nutrient is particularly important to be aware of as traditional food sources such as offal are consumed to a much lesser degree in the 21st century than they used to be. Without offal, the diet contains much less CoQ10 than with it, hence why this formula ensures an optimum amount is present in the diet. B Vitamins and Magnesium are also essential to support normal energy yielding metabolism and can help with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Bone health- Calcium & Vitamin D3 con- tribute to healthy bones. It is widely understood the importance of Calcium within the bone matrix, along with protein and other nutrients and also generally well known that the body needs Vitamin D to absorb Calcium. Large portions of the general population tend to have low levels of Vitamin D, particularly in the winter which is why FertilMan® PLUS provides more than the UK recommended minimum.
Immunity - Vitamin C, D, various B Vitamins, Copper, Iron, Zinc and Selenium all support the normal functioning of the immune system.
Cognition- Iodine, Iron and Zinc all support normal cognitive function with Calcium also supporting normal neurotransmission - enhanced by the presence of Pantothenic Acid which is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and steroidal hormones
Who should use FertilMan Plus?
Any man planning a pregnancy with their partner who is looking for an advanced formula with increased levels of key ingredients and high levels of amino acids to give them the best chance of conception.

Vitamin D3
The UK Government advises that everyone should supplement with 10 micrograms of Vita- min D a day in the autumn and winter months because the majority of this vitamin is made in the body by the action of sunlight on the skin. Anyone who doesn’t get enough sunlight should consider supplementing for longer periods. Vitamin D regulates the amount of Calcium and Phosphate in the body, which are needed to keep bones, teeth & muscles healthy.
Vitamin E
This fat soluble vitamin works with the long chain fatty acids that make up all cellular membranes (including those in sperm) to protect them from cellular oxidation keeping them healthy and functioning normally.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is vital in the formation of collagen. Collagen serves as a kind of glue that holds cells together, therefore Vitamin C plays a role keeping the integrity of every tissue and organ in the body.
Thiamin (Vitamin B1)
The key role of Thiamine in the nervous system is through nerve conduction which is seen in brain signalling and the control of regular heart contractions.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
This vitamin is an essential component of coenzymes which play major roles in energy production; cellular function, growth, and development; and metabolism of fats, drugs, and steroids. Interestingly as an example of the interdependence of nutrients Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) helps activate Vitamin B6 in the body.
Niacin
After ingestion this vitamin is converted into either of the two active forms, NAD (nicotina- mide adenine dinucleotide) and NADP (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate). Similarly to Riboflavin these co-factors are involved in the generation of energy from food. NAD is intimately involved in ATP (the body’s cellular fuel) production. NADP is involved in the breakdown of carbohydrate and fatty acids also supporting energy levels.
Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6)
Vitamin B6 has a variety of metabolic functions especially in amino acid metabolism and in the central nervous system. B6 is also involved in the formation of several ‘amines’ vital for cell to cell communication (neurotransmitters) such as histamine, dopamine and serotonin. Vitamin B6 is also required in the production of prostaglandins as well as in haemoglobin synthesis and in the conversion of tryptophan to Niacin.
Folic Acid
Folic acid is principally involved with the formation of normal red blood cells, due to its involvement in the production of DNA.
Vitamin B12
Together with Folic Acid, it works to produce DNA synthesis and red blood cells. It also aids the development and functioning of brain, nerves and blood cells as well as helping to maintain the normal central nervous system and neurological functions.
Calcium Panthothenate (Vitamin B5)
Helps metabolize fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, aids in the release of stress-relieving hormones.
Magnesium
Magnesium is involved is concentrated in heart muscle much more than in the blood stream, which is indicative of its function in regulating heart-beat. Magnesium works in conjunction with Calcium, for example reducing blood clotting where Calcium promotes it and relaxing muscles where Calcium contracts them. This mineral is vital to energy production and nerve transmission and activates B Vitamins which also play a role in these activities.
Iron
Iron-deficiency anaemia occurs when the body doesn’t have enough Iron to produce adequate amounts of the haemoglobin protein found in red blood cells which carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body.
Zinc
Zinc is involved in cell replication, tissue and bone growth and immunity. Zinc is essential for the production, storage, secretion and utilization of Insulin and also has a close relationship with Vitamin A; supporting it and the transport of Iron through the blood. This element, like Selenium also has a close involvement in the male reproductive process.
Copper
Copper supports iron in its role of transporting oxygen in the blood. It is needed structurally for collagen and elastin and through its enzyme functions provides antioxidant activity to the body. As such it is particularly helpful in maintaining joint health.
Selenium
Like Vitamin E, with which it is associated in some functions, Selenium is an anti-oxidant. It is a vital part of the important Glutathione based enzyme that helps the immune system. Selenium is also involved in the process of spermatogenesis and so plays a key role in male fertility.
Beta Carotene
Beta Carotene can be converted into Vitamin A in the body so is a safe way to top up Vitamin A levels without running the risk of taking too much of this vitamin. This is not its only function though as it does have antioxidant properties in its own right supporting Vitamin E in the oil soluble parts of the body.
Co-Enzyme Q10
It is important to note that although the human body can make CoQ10, the amount produced declines with age. So, as a man gets older, all his cells have less energy available.
L-Arginine
Arginine is an amino acid known to be involved in vascular dilation and therefore normal circulation. Sufficient levels of Arginine allow the body to appropriately manage arterial wall flexibility.
Glutathione
Glutathione is a small amino acid containing molecule (peptide) made up of L-Glutamic acid, L-Cysteine and L-Glycine. It functions in the body as an antioxidant.
L-Taurine
Taurine is an amino acid which acts as a lipid membrane stabliliser in the body where it can aid various antioxidant defence systems.
L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine is used by your body to turn fat into energy. It’s found naturally in your body, in dairy products and in red meat as well as in supplement form.
Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is a vital part of leading a fulfilling life. As well as ensuring your diet is broad based and full of fresh foods and the right supplements, also make sure you exercise well and most importantly spend time resting and sleeping.
